Lincoln Manufacturing is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Magnetic Particle Inspector at our Houston, TX location.

OBJECTIVE

Magnetic Particle Inspectors are responsible for performing wet magnetic particle inspections and recording results for final part acceptance per API, customer, or licensor requirements.

 

FUNCTION

Inspect parts to API, licensor, or customer requirements in a safe and efficient manner that ensures conformance to quality requirements.

 

AUTHORITY

  • Carry out tasks delegated by the QC Supervisor.

  • Authority to use measurement tools and wet magnetic particle inspection equipment to detect indications and verify the quality of parts produced.

  • Authority to document nonconforming product if problems are detected.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Knowledgeable in setting up and using wet magnetic particle inspection equipment, including but not limited to gauss meters, light meters, and magnetic particle inspection booths

  • Perform Process verifications, nondestructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection of all parts manufactured at LMI.
  • Able to identify indications and attempt to prove-out indications as allowed. Able to verify and report depth of indications discovered for further investigation.

  • Understand terminology related to the products being manufactured at the assigned LMI facility.

  • Perform general housekeeping by maintaining all gages in use, work areas in the machine shop and the QC lab.

  • May read or interpret blueprints or drawings, specifications and techniques sheets in order to accomplish magnetic particle setups, tests, and report preparation.

  • Maintain the required NDE certifications. Maintains current knowledge of all applicable industry standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • HS Diploma or comparable experience. 

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and write

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform stationary work for the majority of the shift.

  • Knowledgeable in QA/QC concepts and methodologies. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • Familiar with API 5CT, ISO 9001, ASTM E709 and other relevant industry specifications
